Chanel’s first American store
On 9th February, the doors of a fascinating new destination for jewellery lovers opened in New York: Chanel's first independent watch and fine jewellery store in the States. Number 57 on New York's Fifth Avenue is the address of the new two-story boutique designed by architect Peter Marino, a loyal collaborator of Chanel.
With a façade decorated in black granite and bronze slabs and interiors in shades of gold and black, adorned with touches of rock crystal, the boutique is a tribute to the historic Parisian jewellery workshop at 18 Place Vendôme, as well as to Gabrielle Chanel's refined taste. Each area, including a gallery room lit by crystal chandeliers, two showrooms dedicated to jewellery and a large space for watches, is furnished with pieces of contemporary art and antique objects, evoking the atmosphere of Mademoiselle's apartment.
A magnificent staircase leads to the second floor where areas for appointments with VIP clients are located. The boutique’s customers will be able to admire the most iconic jewellery, watch and haute horlogerie collections as well as some one-of-kind models unveiled for the first time. Moreover, exclusively in the New York boutique, Chanel will be offering a special personalized engraving service for rings from the Coco Crush collection.
