IED X Damiani, together with new ideas for the future
The Damiani brand has invited the students of the third year in Jewellery Design and Accessories IED Torino to imagine the Damiani jewellery of the future.
Young people will embark on a thesis project that will culminate with the design proposal of precious that respect the values of the brand. The project will be divided into three phases: creative phase of conceptual research; digital technical development of the product; storytelling of the collections. This collaboration includes a year of joint work, based on the conception and prototyping of jewellery. In this way, students can explore, study and reinterpret the essence of Damiani, preserving its stylistic and productive identity. This project underlines the value of the Maison’s craftsmanship: a value that is an integral part of the brand’s DNA, but that is also ready to open up to new ideas and new experiments, such as those of the students of the European Institute of Design.
When the excellence of Damiani, with his savoir-faire, his mastery and the high quality of his creations, meets the talent of students in the third year in Jewellery Design and Accessories IED Turin, a perfect synergy between training and business, in which the past and the present of the jewel "Made in Italy" become a testing ground for future projects. This confirms the shared commitment between school and business, aimed at preserving, enhancing and renewing that distinctive "Made in Italy" brand that the Maison brings to the world. "We are very happy to take part in this collaboration with IED Torino.
For Damiani, dialogue and confrontation with the new generations have always been fundamental. In fact, for several years now we have also invested directly in the training of new talents, through the Damiani Academy, which was born with the aim of providing free training more on the field to all those who have a passion for jewellery." Giorgio Grassi Damiani, Vice President of the Damiani Group, comments.
Paola Zini, director IED Torino, says "In a historic moment characterized by a remarkable growth of the Luxury and Jewellery industry, the collaboration between IED and Damiani is an extraordinary opportunity for our students, who have the opportunity to confront the craftsmanship and the savoir-faire of a historic Maison in the industry, opening up to new experiments. In the last 3 years, the employment rate of graduates in the Triennial Course in Jewellery Design and Accessories IED Torino, coordinated by Daniela Bulgarelli, has exceeded 80%, reaching 100% in the academic year 2022-2023. A strong signal, which rewards a teaching focused on learning programs and technologies at the service of tradition".
"The collaboration between Damiani and IED Torino is a source of great pride because it represents a project that underlines the ability of the business and education world to dialogue and share knowledge. Piedmontese excellence in "Made in Italy" is constantly renewed with the collaboration between Damiani, synonymous with tradition, refinement and craftsmanship, and the European Institute of Design in Turin, with the creativity of its young talents." , Comments Alberto Cirio, President of the Piedmont Region.
