This was how Sabina Belli, CEO of Pomellato, described the idea behind the philosophy linked to the use of precious stones. An idea that has much to do with Pomellato's commitment to female empowerment and respect for the right to individuality. At the heart of it all, is a principle of freedom that pervades every aspect of the brand, from its way of revealing unconventional beauty to the creation of innovative designs. Whether diamonds or colored gemstones, each stone is celebrated for its unique character. Leaving the stone in its own rough, uncut form is something done constantly, as Gem Master Stefano Cortecci explains.
«We have created unique jewellery using rough gemstones precisely because they have their own beauty and character. They are a pure expression of independence. When we use more conventional cuts, we express the concept of “free stones” through color.
In the “Ode to Milan” high jewellery collection, we have chosen a range of evocative stones in unusual, vibrant colors capable of expressing strong emotions.» And it is precisely in high jewellery that the unconventional approach finds its highest expression. Here, the choice of colored gems becomes bolder with unexpected combinations. Alongside the extraordinary colors of the diamonds used in the pavés, shapes also break free from norms and conventions.
The traditional brilliant diamond is flanked by fanciful teardrop, marquise or baguette cuts, as well as free shapes, all lightly set on the surface of the gold. The compositions are so original that Pomellato has named them “Charivari”: irregular yet harmonious, they represent the free spirit that has always guided the brand.
